I normally scroll through my Kobo and pick a read. I also tend to search for book lists on a topic or genre I'm in the mood for and try to choose a book I already own. I also keep a list of books that I've read reviews of, and I want to read soon. I like the mason jar idea, it eliminates all the decisions and encourages you to read what you own.
